Terms & disclaimers
The plain bits.
Read these.
Plain-English summary of how the Need A Trade sites are intended to be used, what we publish, and what we explicitly don't warrant. Replaces the longer formal terms until those are issued before public launch.
The guides are general information
The homeowner guides on guides.needatrade.com.au are general consumer-research information. They are not legal advice, regulatory advice, engineering advice, or trade-specific advice for your particular property or situation. State law and regulator policy change over time — verify anything decision-critical with the regulator named on the page.
A Member Profile is not a recommendation
A Member Profile is a published statement that the listed tradie has signed the Code of Conduct and provided business credentials matching what's shown. It is not a recommendation, ranking, vouch, or guarantee of the work performed by the member.
Hiring a tradie is your decision. Verify what the Member Profile shows you (licence on the regulator register, COC by email, written quote), and apply the same homework the guides describe.
No workmanship warranty
Need A Trade does not warrant the quality, safety, timeliness, completeness, or compliance of any work performed by any member. Statutory warranty, workmanship warranty, and materials warranty are between the member and the homeowner under Australian law — we are not a party to that contract.
No referral, no introduction
Need A Trade does not introduce homeowners to members and does not introduce members to homeowners. We do not earn referral fees of any kind. The guides do not link to "find a member now" interfaces.
Member responsibilities
Members are responsible for the accuracy of everything published on their Member Profile, for maintaining current licences and insurance during the listing period, and for honouring the Code commitments they signed. Misrepresentation triggers Code review and may result in profile removal.
Editorial complaints & corrections
Factual errors in the guides should be reported to editorial @ needatrade.com.au. Conduct complaints about members should be reported to conduct @ needatrade.com.au. Privacy queries to privacy @ needatrade.com.au.
Jurisdiction
Need A Trade is published in Australia. These terms and any disputes arising from use of the sites are governed by Australian law.
These terms are the current public summary. The full, formal terms will replace this page before members.needatrade.com.au opens to the public.
